Hylec Controls has successfully developed a tailored seawater-cooling solution for a client operating in the offshore subsea sector. The client sought a compact and highly efficient chiller capable of cooling seawater from approximately 32°C down to 15°C at a flow rate of 20 m³/hr—while also meeting the strict durability and reliability requirements of marine environments.

When approached with the challenge, Hylec Controls initiated a detailed review of the vessel’s operating conditions, environmental constraints, and available installation footprint. Their engineering team explored multiple configurations, assessing corrosion resistance, power integration, vibration levels, and long-term serviceability at sea.
