Portable & Ergonomic
Weighing approximately 1.5 kg including the battery, the HGX-8 is designed for comfortable handheld operation and field use. Its narrow measurement head allows access to corners, confined areas and narrow spaces.
High-Performance Processing
An industrial-grade quad-core 1.8 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM and 24 GB internal storage provide fast processing and storage of approximately 300,000 spectral datasets. Storage can be expanded to up to 128 GB.
Built for Continuous Operation
The HGX-8 incorporates a hot-swappable battery system, allowing batteries to be changed without shutting down the instrument. A single battery provides approximately 8–10 hours of operation, depending on usage conditions.
Advanced Connectivity
Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enable data sharing and remote operation using a PC or Android device. The instrument can also connect to a portable Bluetooth printer for convenient reporting.
Integrated Cameras
A high-definition sample camera assists with sample positioning and documentation. An optional environmental camera provides additional imaging capability for recording the measurement location and sample.
Automatic Sample Detection & Safety
An infrared sensor detects the presence of a sample and helps prevent X-ray excitation when the instrument is not correctly positioned. Multi-interface visual and audible warnings provide real-time indication of X-ray status and instrument conditions.
Air Pressure Compensation
A built-in air-pressure compensation system allows the software to correct analytical results according to atmospheric pressure, helping maintain measurement consistency under varying environmental conditions.
HGX-8 Ore Analyzer

Suitable for:
- Raw ore
- Rock and drill cores
- Mineral powders
- Mining soils
- Slag
- Geological samples
- Mineral exploration and resource assessment
The dedicated ore analysis software enables rapid identification and quantification of elements, helping geologists, mining professionals and laboratories make informed decisions directly in the field.
HGX-8 Alloy Analyzer
The HGX-8 Alloy Analyzer is designed for fast, non-destructive identification and analysis of metals and alloys. It can assist with material verification, sorting and identification across a broad range of industrial applications.
Suitable for:
- Aluminium alloys
- Stainless steels
- Alloy steels
- Tool steels
- Chromium-molybdenum steels
