Tire Traction Slip Friction Tester TTT

The Tire Traction Slip Friction Tester (TTT) by Dynatest is a reliable device used to measure the peak friction characteristics on paved surfaces. It is specifically designed for tire testing to evaluate the dry or self-wetted friction characteristics of tires.

The TTT comprises a fully instrumented tow vehicle and test trailer, utilising a Dynatest two-axis force transducer to provide accurate measurements of vertical load and horizontal tractive force. As a pavement measurement device, it adheres to the requirements of ISO 23671 and 15222 for wet grip measurements of C1 and C2 tires, as well as standard ASTM-E274 and ASTM-F408.

Key Features:

  • State-of-the-art electronic instrumentation ensures precise measurements, while the user-friendly, menu-driven Windows® software allows operators to easily enter and document multiple test parameters. The onboard laptop computer calculates the Skid Number (SN) and Peak Braking Coefficient (PBC) in real-time using the two-axis force transducer data. Test data is stored for future analysis.
  • Additional software capabilities include automatic system calibration, comprehensive system diagnostics, and adjustable test cycle timing.
  • The system is equipped with digital encoders to accurately measure distance and monitor test speeds. It includes a hand remote switch for initiating automatic tests, an industrial-rated PC, and a graphic printer.
  • Test results can be displayed graphically and numerically, providing a comprehensive overview for operators. The computer automatically controls all phases of the testing cycle.
  • The system software features a Calibration function, allowing operators to calibrate the two-axis force transducer. The computer calculates gain and offset values for the force transducer and displays the results graphically.
  • Optional features include DGPS for precise positioning, an integrated Selcom texture laser, a dual-side water system, blocking bars, stainless steel C1 trailers for enhanced durability, and a variety of tow vehicles and water tank sizes.
