Core sampling is widely used to assess pavement construction, material condition and road performance. Common core diameters include approximately 100mm and 150mm, leaving corresponding holes that need to be safely and correctly backfilled.

Tamper Stems
Tamper stems are available with different hexagon sizes to suit compatible breakers and tampers:
- 22mm hex × 82.5mm — suitable for Atlas Copco LH11
- 25.4mm hex × 108mm — not suitable for LH11
- 32mm hex × 235mm — for compatible equipment; not suitable for LH11 or the tamper pads listed above
