The Pulp Disintegrator is designed for the mechanical disintegration of cellulose pulp suspensions in accordance with standard laboratory testing procedures. The unit separates interlaced fibres within a pulp sample by mechanical agitation in water, restoring the fibres to an individual state without significantly altering their structural characteristics.
This process is essential for preparing pulp samples for subsequent refining, sheet forming, and physical property testing.
Operating Principle
A pulp sample is placed in the disintegrator vessel and mixed with water. The vessel is securely positioned in the machine and the upper head is closed. The operator selects the required number of revolutions using the digital control panel and starts the test cycle.
The high-speed rotor mechanically separates the fibres while preserving their inherent properties. Once the preset number of revolutions has been reached, the machine automatically stops.
The disintegrated pulp can then be further processed using refining equipment such as PFI or Valley refiners before being formed into laboratory paper sheets using standard sheet formers or Rapid Köthen sheet-making systems. The resulting sheets can be tested for a range of physical, surface, and optical properties.
