The W401L high-end precision water vapour transmission rate tester, employing the infrared method, is an advanced packaging material testing instrument. It adheres to ASTM, GB standards, and market demands, specifically designed for testing the water vapour transmission rate under predefined temperature and humidity conditions. This instrument is ideal for evaluating the water vapour transmission rate performance of films, sheets, papers, packages and various materials in industries such as food, medicine, medical equipment, daily chemistry, and photovoltaic electronics.

Test Principle The W401L tester operates on the infrared method, featuring a test chamber where a pre-treated sample is fixed in the middle. The chamber is divided into high-humidity and low-humidity sides. Humidified nitrogen flows on one side of the film, while dry nitrogen (carrier gas) flows on the other side at a fixed rate. In the presence of a humidity gradient, water vapor permeates from the high-humidity side to the low-humidity side. The infrared sensor captures the water vapor carried by the flowing dry nitrogen, providing the water vapor transmission rate and other parameters through the sensor's electrical signal output.
