James Cementometer™ Type L
A microwave moisture meter for rapid determination of water/cement ratio in fresh concrete, mortar, and cement mixes.
Product Overview
The James Cementometer™ uses advanced microwave sensing and microprocessor technology to measure the moisture content of freshly mixed concrete, mortar, and cement. Insert the probe into the material and the instrument instantly displays the water/cement ratio on its easy-to-read screen.
The sensor measures the dielectric properties of the material. Because water has a much higher dielectric constant than cement and aggregate, changes in moisture content directly affect the sensor output, allowing fast and reliable measurement.
Purchasing Notes
Type L for Low Water/Cement Ratios
The T-C-20 Cementometer Type L™ is designed for low water/cement ratio applications and uses a five-prong probe for improved performance in this range.
Features & Benefits
- Fast & Easy to Use
- Simply insert the probe into the material being tested
- Accurate Measurements
- Microwave sensing technology provides reliable moisture readings
- Portable Design
- Battery-powered operation for field and laboratory use
- Instant Readings
- Displays water/cement ratio immediately after measurement
Product Information
The Cementometer™ is supplied calibrated for standard Type I, II, and III cements. Users can program up to 10 custom mix designs for improved accuracy with specific materials.
For best results, it is recommended that the instrument be programmed for the exact mix being tested. Typically, an average of 5–10 readings is taken to ensure a representative measurement.
The instrument can store more than 150 readings, including date and time information. Stored data can be transferred to a PC via the USB interface using James Cementometer™ software.
