Reliable, Durable, Industry-Standard Hardness Testing
The Bareiss HP Analog Shore Durometer has been a benchmark in hardness testing since 1954, trusted by industries worldwide for rubber, plastics, and elastomer testing. Built with a high-quality aluminum chassis, the HP durometer is lightweight yet exceptionally durable, making it ideal for field use or lab environments. Its precision design, featuring a unique ball-bearing mechanism, ensures smooth indenter movement with minimal friction, delivering consistently accurate results. The adjustable presser foot adds versatility, allowing the tester to adapt to different specimen types and testing requirements.
Why Choose the HP Analog Durometer:
-
User-Friendly: Compact, lightweight, and easy to handle in any setting.
-
High Precision: Achieves ±0.5 Shore units, surpassing standard tolerances of ±1.0.
-
Smooth Operation: Ball-bearing mechanism reduces friction for more reliable measurements.
-
Customizable: Adjustable presser foot for versatile testing on various materials.
-
Durable Build: High-quality aluminum construction for long-lasting performance.
Operating Instructions:
-
Hold the HP durometer firmly and press vertically onto the specimen until the presser foot is fully in contact.
-
Take the reading after 3 seconds (up to 15 seconds for non-homogenous materials).
-
Ensure the tester remains parallel to the specimen; tilting may affect results.
-
Record room temperature and contact pressure according to standards.
Applications:
The HP Series is designed for hardness determination of rubber, elastomers, and plastics. For accurate testing, specimens should be smooth, flat, with a minimum diameter of 35 mm and thickness of 6 mm.
Measuring Ranges:
-
Shore A: 10–90
-
Shore D: 20–90
-
Additional scales: Shore 00, Shore 000, Shore 000S, Shore E, Shore B, Shore C, Shore D0, Asker C, Asker CS, Asker F
