Determine the Rebound Resilience of Flexible Polymer Foams
The Ball Rebound Tester is a precision instrument designed to measure the rebound resilience of flexible polymer foams by recording the rebound height of a freely falling steel ball after impact. It provides fast, accurate, and repeatable results for quality control, research, and product development applications.
Manufactured to meet international testing standards, the Ball Rebound Tester offers multiple measurement modes and intuitive operation, making it ideal for laboratories and production facilities evaluating foam elasticity and resilience.
Standards
- ASTM D3574
- DIN EN ISO 8307
Applications
The Ball Rebound Tester is used to determine the rebound resilience of flexible polymer foams, providing a reliable indication of a material's elasticity, energy absorption, and performance characteristics. It is suitable for quality assurance, material development, and production testing across a wide range of foam products.
Product Overview
Testing is performed by allowing a steel ball to fall freely onto a plane-parallel foam specimen and electronically measuring the rebound height. The instrument's precision-guided vertical drop tube ensures an unobstructed and consistent fall for highly repeatable test results.
The drop tube can be continuously adjusted to suit specimen thicknesses, while a magnetic holder securely positions the ball until the test begins. Measurement is initiated simply by turning the handwheel, releasing the ball onto the specimen. High-precision sensors automatically detect the rebound height and display the result on the integrated electronic display.
Depending on the selected test mode, the system can display individual measurements, median values, or average results from multiple tests, providing greater flexibility for different testing requirements.
Minimum specimen thickness: 50 mm
